Hi, welcome to my shrine for my first ever Animal Crossing island! Animal Crossing New Horizons is the only animal crossing game I've ever played and it immediately captured my heart back in 2020. I learned about this game on a random afternoon and decided to pre-order it since the graphics looked cute. The customization options, ability to collect any/everything, and villager interactions had me hooked within a few days of playing! I started looking at other peoples islands for inspo and learned about "themed islands" - where the island has a specific aesthetic. I thought of how beautiful it would be to re-create scenes from Avatar the Last Airbender - so thats what I did! This page is to not only share my creations & memories, but also document my creation process. My dream address should be available still, not sure about my custom designs . Creating Outfits & Designs

After deciding the theme of my island I knew i needed soooo many patterns & outfits that the game didn't have and probably wouldn't add themselves, so I made them myself proud

! Designing outfits was so fun & I loved seeing my villagers wearing them around (there are some pics of that in the villager highlights section).

Thinking of the layout

Before actually building anything I rewatched ATLA paying close attention to the architecture and geography. I did some rough sketches of the general layout for the island and spent way too much time looking through the item catalogue on nookazon to get some ideas on which items would fit in each area.

earth kingdom

This is the first area I started working on and one of my favorites! The earth kingdom went through about 3 versions. It was difficult to design & decorate since the resident services building couldn't be moved and took up so much space. I initally wanted to surround the entire area in tall walls, but during terraforming I realized that took up way too much space and didn't look as grand as it needed to. I decided to focus on making more "interactable" areas than scenic ones, so it would feel like I was actually walking through the earth kingdom.

Struggles: trying to emulate the grandeur of the Earth Kingdom with the tall walls and sprawling city in the limited area & showcase earthbending in an interesting way

Fav Area: the bamboo forest with the earthbenders & the kyoshi warrors room!

This section took me the longest to build. Even with all my planning and item organizing I wasn't sure what to do with the space! At the time of decorating the items like the frozen set and tents weren't released so it hard to create an area that resembled the northern water tribe and the the southern water tribe. Building this section made me be more creative which turned out to be sooo helpful for the fire nation & air temple areas I got to later!

Struggles: finding items that worked in this space

Fav Area: spirit oasis & water benders practicing - realizing i could use the eel models to represent the waterbending made me feel like a genius

Similarly to the earth kingdom section, this area also had a few versions. v1 was the spiral inspired by the avatar statues room but it wasn't great. I landed on creating 3 islands styled after the eastern air temples, which turned out to be great! I loved just hanging out in this area and taking pics.

Struggles: just the layout since there were a lot of scenes I wanted to recreate

To be completely honest, the main inspiration for making this island ATLA themed was my desire to recreate the final agni kai between zuko & azula. There are also so many iconic scenes that take place with the fire nation crew, unfortunately I couldn't fit them all (sad emoji). Still, this is probably the most dense area in terms of how many scenes are recreated.

Struggles: balancing everything! so many scenes to add
